How the Foundation Raises Funds

The Foundation conducts a Direct Ask campaign at the beginning of each school year. As part of the campaign, the Foundation asks parents to donate a specified amount for each of their students. That amount is typically $250, though it may vary from year to year. Parents who donate by certain dates are entered into a raffle to win prizes. In past years, prizes have included a Google Chromebook and saved parking spaces during Back to School Night. While the Foundation makes a big push for donations during the Direct Ask campaign, donations are accepted any time throughout the year.

Each year, the Foundation hosts a Spring Gala, which is a significant fundraiser for the organization. Funds are raised from ticket sales, a silent auction, and a live auction. Items for the auction are donated by local businesses. A theme contributes to the fun of the evening. This is a great opportunity to meet Foundation Board members, mingle with other parents, enjoy a night out, and buy some great items at the auction while contributing to the Foundation and helping to meet the needs of students and teachers at Oak Valley.
