Fundraising

How the Foundation Raises Funds

The Foundation conducts a Direct Ask campaign at the beginning of each school year. As part of the campaign, the Foundation asks parents to donate a specified amount for each of their students. That amount is typically $300, though it may vary from year to year. Parents who donate by certain dates are entered into a raffle to win prizes. In past years, prizes have included a Google Chromebook and saved parking spaces during Back to School Night. While the Foundation makes a big push for donations during the Direct Ask campaign, donations are accepted any time throughout the year.

Each year, the Foundation hosts a Spring Gala, which is a significant fundraiser for the organization. Funds are raised from ticket sales, a silent auction, and a live auction. Items for the auction are donated by local businesses. A theme contributes to the fun of the evening. This is a great opportunity to meet Foundation Board members, mingle with other parents, enjoy a night out, and buy some great items at the auction while contributing to the Foundation and helping to meet the needs of students and teachers at Oak Valley.

Other Ways to Donate

There are many ways to donate to the mission of Oak Valley. We are always looking for parents to volunteer their time in support of the Foundation. Ways you can volunteer your time include:

  • Become a member of the Foundation Board.
  • Man the Foundation table during registration at the beginning of the year
  • Help with Foundation materials for Back to School Night
  • Chair or Co-Chair the Spring Gala
  • Participate in one of several committees that plan for the Spring Gala

If you have a special skill or talent, or a specific way you'd like to contribute to the Foundation, please contact us.

GRANTS & FUNDING

Each year, the Foundation partners with Oak Valley leaders to raise funds for teacher and student needs that are not covered by current funding. Our goal is to inspire students to learn, enrich teaching, and enhance the learning environment for everyone in the classroom.
